Background

TLDR;

I'm an engineer with a passion for harnessing
artificial intelligence to solve complex development challenges

Every challenge is an opportunity to grow, adapt, and contribute to meaningful change

Where I am today

I'm wrapping up my Master's in Data Science at Rice University as part of my Fulbright scholarship , and I'll be graduating in May 2025. It's been an amazing journey learning more about cutting-edge AI techniques while connecting with Rice's vibrant academic community.

Outside of classes, I write on Substack, focusing on how AI can intersect with public policy and drive social impact.
My goal is to make AI concepts more accessible and show how they can be used to tackle real-world challenges.

Research

I've had the chance to collaborate with incredible research mentors like Santiago Segarra, where we worked on using machine learning to predict human interactions, and Vaibhav Unhelkar, exploring efficiency gains in hierarchical imitation learning. These experiences deepened my understanding of applying AI in innovative ways and have broadened my interest in impactful, real-world applications.

I've been working on how smaller, resource-efficient language models can support education in under-resourced communities

Where I have been

My path to Rice University has been shaped by a series of unique and rewarding experiences. I started my career at Clarín, Argentina's largest media company, where I worked on projects involving language understanding and generation. This was a great time to be working with language, seeing the first papers on GPT be implemented and an ever growning PyTorch ecosystem, was amazing!

I then joined the founding team at Tekal, a consulting startup focused on using AI to address challenges faced by governments across Latin America. At Tekal, I worked as a data scientist on projects aimed at improving decision-making processes in Latin American governments, collaborating with organizations like the Inter American Development Bank and Argentina's National Government. This role reinforced my interest in leveraging AI for social good and introduced me to the complexities and opportunities of working with the public sector.

After Tekal, I joined Memorable, an adtech startup that helps creative teams optimize their campaigns using AI. My time at Memorable was transformative. I gained hands-on experience with cloud engineering, as well as the development and deployment of machine learning models. These challenges strengthened my ability to learn quickly and tackle new technical domains.

I thrived in the startup environment, where proactivity, adaptability, and collaboration were essential. These values have become pillars of my work ethic, and I especially appreciated the opportunity to learn from excellent professionals like Sebastián Acevedo and Camilo Fosco, whose expertise and mentorship had a lasting impact on me.
